Four opinions about the De la Gardie upper secondary school

Four students. The third (and last) year at the De la Gardie upper secondary school. Lots of exciting plans for the future. What will you take with you from the school into your adult lives?

Lousie Jonsson, Hotel & Restaurant course. Goal: to work in a restaurant or café. “The fun, the great interaction with the teachers and the focus on the environment of course. In our own restaurant, Hyllan, we have looked at everything from an environmental perspective.”

Frosina Sandreska, Pre-nursing course. Goal: to be a physical therapist or social worker. “Probably the fact that sustainability and the environment are part of everything. Good health and helping to prevent illnesses in the future are also important aspects of sustainable development.”

Johanna Marklund, Väner course. Goal: to become a police officer or social worker. “I have a greater understanding of the way that diff erent things in society and nature work and are interconnected. The freedom to compose ones own course of study is also good.”

Marcus Tegen, Väner course. Goal: to become a fire fighter. “The great atmosphere in the class and the fact that it’s easy to study in peace and quiet. I just switched to the Väner course but I felt right away that things were good here.”

De la Gardie upper secondary school

Located at the centre of Lidköping, with approx. 2,000 students. There are 17 courses of study that prepare the students for further studies or for an occupation. The school’s motto is: “Learning through participation, team spirit and enjoyment.”
