“This is where we want
to live.”

Our place in the world. The water, the small-town atmosphere and being close to relatives and friends are what made Maria Rosén, Peter Labecker and their daughters Greta and Ebba choose Lidköping.
It’s sometimes necessary to look at faraway places in order to appreciate what’s close by. That was the case for Maria Rosén and Peter Labecker. After having studied, worked and lived in a number of places throughout Sweden and abroad for twelve years, they ultimately decided to settle down in Lidköping.”The decision came quite naturally. We both have our roots in this area and our relatives and friends are nearby, so when we had the opportunity a couple of years ago to buy a plot of land, we jumped at the chance,” explains Maria.Maria and Peter’s dream house, which they have designed and are building themselves, is taking shape in Sjölunda, which is a stone’s throw from Lake Vänern. It will be extremely energy-effi cient and nearly maintenance-free.”When the house is fi nished, we’d like to have time to do other things. And we will recoup the extra expense for building in an energy-effi cient, climatesmart way in a few years,” says Peter.”We are thinking long-term, both with respect to the house itself and to Lidköping. It’s a wonderful small city with a very positive atmosphere. Our children will be able to grow up here in a secure and pleasant environment,” says Maria. ”I really can’t imagine a better place to live.”
