The level of care meets a consistent high standard. The Tolsjö home for the elderly has received the "Home of the Year" award, and stands as a fine representative of the entire range of services. Our day centres are popular meeting places for pensioners in the municipality. We also have special day facilities for people with dementia and mental health problems. Individual and family care services help to provide financial and social security for our residents. Family counselling, the integration unit and youth reception centre are a few of the areas of responsibility.

A range of different projects allow us to work actively with children and young people to counter problems such as bullying and xenophobia. An introductory programme for immigrants creates good opportunities for integration.

The service and aid units assist with all questions and applications for care and welfare - from home help, serviced apartments and security alarms to travel services. Individual and family care services offer newly arrived immigrants an introductory programme of classes in subjects such as languages, social studies and IT, as well as contacts with the employment market. Lidköping hospital is an emergency hospital with around 180 care places and several specialist treatments.
